So what’s happend the past 2 weeks?

Mostly work and work.

On my time off I’ve been planning my vacation this year, which will go to Amsterdam… and how will I get there?

By bike! so a lot of the weekends have gone into biking and getting into shape and to endure 4-5-6 hours on a bike, which I’ve so far managed quite well, 2 weeks ago I had Friday off and over the course of 3 days I covered over 100KM on the bike, that’s a little under 1/2 the way to Amsterdam from Münster.

I’m sorry that this post is so short, and there’s no picture, but I’ll post more next sunday

Week started slowly and as it progressed I got some useful experiences

Friday was quite busy, had quite a lot to do after Philipp left, but I managed to keep it going.

Yesterday was 1st of may and I went out to enjoy the sun and look at how 1st of may is celebrated here, apperantly more bier and less demo going on. And just to top it off, I did a nice faceplant, partially tore my new shorts, and had a nasty wound on my knee.

Today I started the day off by relaxing and go to a brunch with some other geocachers, after we went geocaching, found 4 and failed at 2 caches. Overall I managed to cover over 40 KM in a day, which is a new personal record since I got here.

Friday was also grilling day, went to Philipp’s place and relaxed there for a while until it got a bit too cold to stay out in a t-shirt.

Now I’m just hoping that DHL drops by with my package(purchased network in the plug and a set of headphones), and tomorrow also brings starting early, instead of starting 8:30 I from tomorrow start 8:00.

ps. Upgraded to Lucid Lynx yesterday, I’ll probably sit down and post about that Wedensday or so, maybe thursday.

Geocaching is fun! and so is training I figured.

Friday I decided to go training some, I wound up doing 14 KM in high gear, then I picked up a geocache I couldn’t reach earlier.

There I bumped into Lydia, a geocacher that is local(oh and her friend)

Later that night I went to a party at Philipp’s place, it was a lot of fun, and a lot of people there. Even got to practice my German all night

work have been like usual, little to do.

I also cleaned up my database for the blog a bit, it passed over 34 MB of data, now it’s a lot less(about 2 1/2 MB) so hopefully it responds a lot better now

Today it passed over 25°C outside! It was sooo nice to just sit outside and relax in the sun

ps. if you wonder why I changed the design it was because the old design actually fucked up viewing posts(and commenting on them), which is very bad.

So whats up, well, 2010 hit…

I’ve opened my own gallery local at the site with a bit more low-res pictures(high-res isn’t exactly always a good thing lol)

and I took a lot of pictures, click the picture on the left to visit the gallery the pictures will be available at dA as well in maximum res of course under the usual CC-by-nc-sa license.

Other than that, I want to give a little heads up about a nice webmaster forum, you might’ve seen me talk about it before.

Loving Tech, A lot have happened the past year here, It started almost a year ago(21st jan 09), and have grown to just about 1700 memebers, have over30 000 posts(!) and have some very dedicated members with lots of knowledge on all kinds of topics. I suggest you check it out and join in on the discussion.

In tech some nice things happened, Windows 7 was released, and made a grand entering(at least in my opinion) and proved that the vista move wasn’t that stupid. Other than that Apple came with the 3gs, and the iPod touch 3g, both with much faster and better hardware, which might be a good thing, we’ll see. There’s also been some leaks, most have probably heard about this already, Google is having their own phone that isn’t tied to any particular carrier in the us, which at least to my foreign head is a good thing(we’re used to it being like that )

On the coding side, I’ve learned perl, I’ve started(and quit) learning LISP, and are learning IO. I’ve coded a few thousand lines, mostly in C++ concerning hacking on Emerald, but also done about 5 000 lines in perl for my radio project which is shaping up on the back-end finally.

On my blogging I’ve been a bit too lazy though, I got 6 drafts which I’ve been writing some on, but I don’t have enough time to complete them, so as a product they might never be done, but I’ll try to complete them during 2010.

On the photo side, I’ve passed 10 000 pictures(!) on the pentax, the lucky picture was this:

a few months ago I posted some twitter bookmarklets for ipod and iPhone, and Sorry to say, but they won’t get any updates any time soon Just don’t have time for it when I work on my new profile portal thorerik.com and the sudden shutdown of my old host(and then return to the old backup host, which is outdated ).

Also posted a youtube video a while back where I explained a idea I had, basically being a more secure version of for example what wordpress is.
The concept code is continusly developing, and I’ll probably open up the source either this month or some time during April (might work on it during the Gathering 8th-12th April, drop by if you’re there, seat 1 @ row 31 )

btw, just quickly back to the project over at thorerik.com, that might(!) also be open sourced, We’ll see

still trying to be active on twitter, mostly end up reading tweets(with over 200 followers and following over 300 there’s a lot of tweets O_O)

also on the plans is to create more tests of apps for iPod/iPhone, as I use that all the time, and think there is way too few tests of actual apps(many write very subjective reviews, I try to be some what objective when I review things )

one review that is also coming up is Safari 4, and Firefox 3.1(now renamed 3.5 according to some news sites), and not to forget final version of IE 8, the beta’s have been very impressive(considering IE7 was terrible).

Also trying to get listed on a norwegian blog listing called Blogglisten.no, and hopefully going to get some more traffic If that happens, more posts will come, and they will be WAY more frequent as a treat to all of you regulars

Last but not least, I will begin to vlog too, as It’s a bit easier, and it’s a bit more lazy :p

Why so? there is no resemblance to “how are you” in the term “sup” which comes from “Whats up”.

Do anybody know why this happends? It only caught my mind today, as I was talking to random people, and way more than usual answerd to the question i did’t ask…
